MDT Company Preparation
Vocal auditions do not require an appointment. Please plan to attend the entire time for dance auditions.

Vocal audition preparation
– Prepare the best 30-45 seconds of a song that fits what you are auditioning for (classical, current musical theater or Disney).
– LOVE the song you sing. If you don’t love it, don’t sing it.
– Have a second contrasting song just in case (ie. one upbeat and bright and one slower and sweet…sing your favorite one first).
– Bring a karaoke track on an mp3 player. You can also sing a cappella but that is not encouraged.
– Dress to impress: nicer than everyday school attire.

Dance audition preparation
Dress in comfortable, form fitting clothes and shoes that are easy to move in. Both jazz shoes and ballet shoes are recommended. Be prepared to stay after you sing, change your clothes, and warm up. Choreography will be taught on Monday, April 15th from 4:00-6:30.

Musical theatre companies are designed for students who want to pursue musical theatre either in school, community, and regional theatre productions, pursue a career on Broadway, or attend a musical theatre collegiate program. Companies are designed to give students purposeful performance opportunities, build their resumes, plant seeds with important Music Theatre figures, and give the best training possible.

Companies have performed in the Movie 12 Dogs of Christmas II directed by Oscar winning Kieth Merrill, for the Governor, Hollywood producers, YA Director Randy Boothe, Broadway director Jeff Whiting and Jeff Johnson Casting. They have performed in NYC’s Lincoln Center (Avery Fisher Hall), Kingsbury Hall and The Covey Center for the Arts. They have also performed with David Archuleta, Kevin Olusola and Broadway composer Jason Robert Brown and Broadway stars Jeremy Jordan, Laura Benanti, Ramin Karimloo, Dallyn Vail Bayles, Britani Bateman, Jenny Frogley and more.

Companies also tour and perform for several Music Theatre Universities and their Directors as well as Tuacahn, NYC and LA where they workshop with Broadway talent and producers, see Broadway shows, and engage in private talk back sessions with cast members, enjoy backstage tours, and perform in the city.
